Life is good

Sorry for the long absence again! I would expect more of these in the future. School is not too bad. Things are pretty normal. I made Guys and Dolls, but I don’t know what I am yet. It’s going to be really fun, but really busy with all these rehearsals and stuff. The first few weeks of summer are also going to be hectic because I have Drivers Education and Government. I think we are then going to go to India in August. Anyways, I’m feeling OK, but for some odd reason, I cannot sleep in. I cannot stay awake past 10:30 or sleep after 7 or 8 in the morning… it’s really annoying because the only chance I get to sleep in, I can’t! Oh well; they say that too much sleep is unhealthy for you anyways.

On another note, I used to read a lot when I was younger, but as I progressed into my teenage years, the number of books I read for leisure decreased to zero. I want to bring that number up, so I created a Reading List. This list contains the books that I have read this year, as well as books that I want to read. Currently, I am reading A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L’Engle. I’m not very far into it, and I barely get free time to read it. We’ll see how it goes :\

So I shouldn’t have bought a 4GB iPod Nano last year… Ugh. I already exceeded this capacity and I still have so much more music to add. I also have videos to add, but there is no video capabilities on this iPod. My birthday is coming up in a few months, so I want a new iPod Classic. The current one is in its 6th generation with 80GB or 160GB and video capabilities. It also has a really cool interface with Cover Flow. Unfortunately, this device comes with many glitches. According to my friend Anthony, a new generation will be in stores pretty soon because of the malfunctions. All I am hoping is that it’ll come out before my birthday. Otherwise, I am going to have to wait to buy it later on. My other option is to buy a Creative Zen Vision W, which looks REALLY cool. The only (big) problem is that it won’t be compatible with iTunes or my purchased music… Darn you, Apple, and your power to make people stick with your company for the rest of their lives! I’ll just try to be patient for the new iPod to come out. Any guesses when?

I gave up

Today was one of the worst school days of my life. As I look back, it wasn’t too bad. It’s just… things never went as planned for me. I’m not going to explain, because I give up.

I give up on caring about things not going as I wanted. In my nature, they always have to go was planned, and eventually, they do. Today was that day. Nothing happened as I planned, but I was eventually satisfied. I didn’t have to make myself satisfied. It just foiled out. Now, I do realize that I can’t just stop caring about my goals and my dreams. I still want to be what I want to be, and I still want the things that I want. I realize that it’s never going to happen exactly as I plan, but before today, that’s how my mentality was.

Just wanted to let that out :). So I have a sore throat that is probably going to turn into the flu. I had an audition about forty-five minutes ago, and the adrenaline numbed the pain, according to my accompanist (also my voice teacher). No school tomorrow because of elections, so that’s my chance to rest and get better! GO OBAMA!

I totally just broke my New Year’s Resolution in posted every week or whatever… I just don’t want to talk about school right now so I’m not going to explain. Today is a SNOW DAY! It took a lot of snow for this amazing holiday… because here in the Chicago ‘burbs, it snows a lot, as you can imagine. I heard in Seattle that it snowed only a little bit and they got school canceled/delayed. Here, around a foot of snow fell, and this was all over night and continuous so it was hard to keep plowing it.

This Snow Day is especially wonderful because it’s on a Friday. That means no homework for the weekend. I can catch up all the stuff that I wanted to do, such as blogging, and I can SLEEP. I haven’t been getting much of that lately. My goals this weekend are to work on this blog, practice for musical auditions (this year, our school is putting on Guys & Dolls), and practice for Solo & Ensemble. For those of you who do not know what that is, it is basically a festival where you prepare a solo (or an ensemble song with other people) and perform it in front of clinicians. They help you with improving your song and how you perform it. An optional event is the actual contest where you get a score (I, II, III, I is the best). This is coming up in only a couple of weeks, and I have much work to do.

As for the blog, I plan to finish writing the pages (I say that all the time), and then maybe posted a few rants that are on my mind, but I don’t know. It depends on what mood I am in. Also, I need your help with an issue. I am getting SO much spam lately (mostly from the free ringtones thing). I made an approval system, in which every comment is emailed to me before I can approve it. This works fine, but the spam from my blog is now flooding my email. Do you guys have any other suggestions?
