Bokura Barairo no Hibi

Bokura Barairo no Hibi On the 19th of September, Chihiro Onitsuka released a new single, Bokura Barairo no Hibi (僕等 バラ色の日々), along with a couple song entitled NOW. I think this song is a bit more like her older songs. It includes more instruments besides the piano, like strings and drums. I’ve listened to many songs, but not all, and I think this is the second best after everyhome, but that’s my opinion. NOW, I didn’t like all that much. It was nice, but not as great as the main single. I could also only understand about half of the English, but after I listened to it a few times, I think I understood it all. I believe Bokura has hit #9 in the Oricon charts.

School has been so stressful. I have been getting a lot of homework, but so far, my grades are keeping high. Hopefully, it’ll stay that way =) Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the comments!

Let’s scat.

As many of you don’t know… I’m in choir at my school. I auditioned for a jazz group in May for next year, and surprisingly made it. I was really, really excited and overjoyed, but didn’t realize that it was going to be a challenge. Prior to my audition, I never listened to jazz or blues music regularly. I instantly fell in love with Jazz when I went through the audition piece and looked at other jazz music. I even enjoyed listening to the blues. xD

A few weeks ago, I received some of the music in the mail that we will be singing, went through some of it, and put it off to the side. It looked really hard, especially the rhythm things and patterns. I got nervous. I have never heard of any of those songs, except one or two. Just a few minutes ago, I popped in the CD (our teacher was really nice and gave us all a CD with all the songs) and listened. They songs are awesome. I wasn’t nervous anymore, because I was going to most likely enjoy singing these songs! I’m uploading my favorite one, and it’s at the end of this entry. I’m looking forward to being in this jazz ensemble, and if I get CDs of the concerts, I’ll gladly upload some songs to share.

Anyways, thanks for the nice comments and suggestions for this layout! I honestly didn’t think it would be that great since I made it pretty quickly. Thanks to the following for leaving comments:

Chihiro Onitsuka’s Everyhome

Chihiro Onitsuka is a Japanese musician that returned from her hiatus this year with a stunning song entitled “Everyhome.” When I found it on Youtube, I instantly fell in love with it. This song is a bit different to others. It is simple, sweet, and doesn’t use fancy voice editing. It is her voice only, and not her voice plus computers trying to make it sound better.

This album was released on the fifth of June, but I think the PV was released much earlier. For a couple of days, it was on the most viewed Japanese music videos page on Youtube (which is how I found the video). On Youtube, you can watch the original PV and a live performance at AP BANG!.

Enjoy the song =) I started to transcribe the piano and vocals for this song, but I’m asking my friend who is visiting Japan to find sheet music for it. If anyone can find sheet music for this song, let me know, please!
